I’m Emily, virtual assistant, small business support and founder of EssentiallyEmily. Here’s a little more about me and my background, in case you are thinking you would like to work with me. (Spoiler alert: you will definitely want to!)

Since I graduated from university in 2001 (yikes!), I have taken what can only be described as a non-linear path. I have learned all sorts from Spanish to HR management and cultural intelligence, and I’ve worked in diverse industries, but my focus has been on two primary things: being effective and exceeding expectations. I learned quickly that being organised and proactively going a step beyond what’s expected can have profoundly positive outcomes. It’s a great feeling, and one I try to capture as often as possible.

Throughout many years in hospitality, sales, event management, operations, teaching, training and customer service, I have always done my utmost to provide a seamless experience, with customers and colleagues as well as myself. I’ve worked in some fascinating industries in the UK and abroad, and I have learned so much from interesting people from around the world. Importantly, I’ve learned that if you do what you love, you give it everything. I imagine you can relate.

My love of languages and how they work, my love of order and logic, my love of project planning and managing processes, my love of effective communication, and my love of customer service, have all led me here, to EssentiallyEmily. I’m a problem solver; I have a sharp eye for detail and high standards of professionalism. Trust matters, customer service matters and, of course, our reputations matter. And I don’t intend to jeopardise either! Ultimately, I want you to feel confident, happy and supported when you work with me.

So, it’s ok not to like or be good at admin – heck, that’s what my business is about. You are brilliant at what you do, both inside and outside of your business, so get out there and do it. Look after what truly matters to you and leave the rest to me.

When I’m not in professional mode, you might find me at my local swimming pool or watching Netflix on the sofa with my two dogs. I also love cycling, cross stitch and all things Classical history.
